Project Summary


The Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District worked closely with the Fresno Irrigation District to complete the Holland Creek Bypass project in 2003. The $3.5M project included the construction of a 100-foot wide, 5,000 foot long flood channel capable of diverting 2,000 cubic feet per second to the Kings River Channel. As part of the project a wetlands mitigation site was include as part of the construction project. The project also involved the construction of a 70-foot wide multi arch bridge at Trimmer Springs Road along with a spill structure at the point of discharge to the Kings River. The construction drawings were prepared by Blair, Church and Flynn along with construction management and daily inspection services. The project was completed on time and on budget.

Also as part of the project was the relocation of on farm water delivery systems for two adjacent landowners. These improvements included three deep wells and a micro-drip irrigation system
